The International Laparoscopy And Robotic Surgery Association was established with this date and approval number, 18.10.2012/145, and then merged with International Laparoscopic Surgery Society in 2016 and changed it's name in to International Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery Association. Since we provide training internationally, ILRSA (International Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgery Association) is also used as the logo of our association
The Aim of the Association: To organize International Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery training courses in Turkey and in the world and to contribute to all researches, scientific studies and articles in Endourology.
Organizing courses and trainings to promote scientific and cultural contribution in the field of medicine to the countries, with cultural ties with Turkey, such as; Balkans, Central Asia, Far Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
History of the Association:
The first attempt was to establish this association streches back to 2004 with the establishment of "Turkurolap"; Turkish urologic laparoscopy group which was a training and research group, and the first laparoscopy course was held in 2004 as well. The area has been extended to Robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery and Endourology and training programs have been developed for Turkish and international urologists. So far, 44 Basic and Advanced Laparoscopy and Robotic Surgery Courses have been performed, and it will reach to 48 by the end of 2018. These courses were held in many different countries like; Germany, Greece, Romania, Russia, Italy, Azerbaidjan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Algeria, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Turkey, Bulgaria and Kosovo.
The International Laparoscopy And Robotic Surgery Association has a highly talented international training group.
Up to this day, 44 courses were held in cooperation with ESUT, and two with the World Endourology Association.
Our trainers have participated actively in to 24 of Hands on Training Courses which were organized by European Urology Association (EAU) and European Association of Uro Technology ( ESUT).
The Turkish Urological Laparoscopy Group (TURKUROLAP) was founded by Professor Yasar Ozgok in 2005, in Ankara, Turkey. This group is composed of urologic surgeons who are particularly interested in laparoscopic urology.
We organized our first laparoscopic urology course in 2005 in Ankara, Turkey. TURKUROLAP attracted great attention very rapidly and many colleagues from different parts of the country have joined our team. Thereafter, we invited our international colleagues to join the team in order to increase collaboration. Since 2005, we have been organizing laparoscopy courses not only in Turkey but also in other countries including Greece, Egypt, Romania, Germany, Russia, Indonesia and Sudan. In addition to many course trainers from Turkey, we have international course trainers from Germany, India, The Netherlands, Russia, USA, Romania, Canada, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom and Dubai.
Laparoscopy courses include both basic and advanced courses and in most of the meetings live surgeries with a symposium has been also included. Dry lab (training-box) and wet lab (hand-on training in the animal lab) facilities in addition to lectures with video presentations have been organized.
We also have our team members who have been dealing with robotic urology. Since 2012, we have also been organizing robotic urology courses and meetings.
In 2013, we established an international platform for laparoscopic and robotic urology. Our main aim is to organize courses and meetings on laparoscopic and robotic urology in order to give training, to carry out joint multi-center and international studies, publish papers, books and scientific documents.
We look forward to welcoming and meeting our colleagues from any part of the world who are particularly interested in laparoscopic and robotic urology though this platform in order to increase collaboration and friendship.
